How to Treat - Adult and Adolescent Anorexia (February 5th & 6th 2022)

With the highest rate of morbidity, death related to anorexia is a significant fact implicit with working with this population.

This training will equip participants with effective tools that will build their confidence and skills in working with this problem.



The training will present the phenomenology, attempted solutions and perceptive reactive system for adult and adolescent for these disorders and the subsequent treatment protocols.

Module Content and Learning Outcomes:

  • Understanding the evolution and maintenance of Adult and Adolescent Anorexia
  • Awareness of the Perceptive-Reactive-System of Anorexia
  • Knowledge of the main Attempts at Solution for Anorexia
  • The involvement of the patient’s family and caring system
  • Learn the Operative Diagnosis for the disorder
  • Learn the treatment protocols for the variations of this disorder
  • Learn the effective modes of communication required with Anorexia
  • Learn to distinguish between, sacrificial, abstinent and expert anorexia
  • Learn to distinguish between and effectively treat, Adolescent anorexia such as; Anorexia (abstinent), anorexia with exercising, with binge eating, with vomiting, with self-harm, with purging, with substance use, personality disorder
  • Importance of the family in treatment and therapeutic strategies to involve them
  • Learn the 5-different stages in therapy
  • Main Strategies Required for these disorders
  • Learn Treatment Maintenance instruments
  • Learn Follow up and termination techniques
